Wood Wood presents: Meshit + Daliah Spiegel
Almost one year ago when I was brand new in Vienna, I was walking through Mariahilfer Strasse and a good friend of mine suddenly stopped and said: Hei! Do you see those two girls over there? They are MESHIT! After trying to find (without chance) the two girls in the middle of the big mass, I just had a thing in mind: What is meshit?
After doing some research I discovered that meshit was and is the name of the brand of Ida Steixner and Lena Krampf, one of the best and most successful young designers from Austria. At that time I felt in love with their A/W 2011/12 collection but then I turned crazy with their next S/S collection, and I almost had a heart attack seeing their absolutely fantastic AW 2012/2013 presentation show during Vienna Awards for Fashion & Lifestyle .
At the same time, and after more editorials and parties I was discovering in Vienna the name of Daliah Spiegel that turned unforgettable and familiar. Her impudent, saucy and shameless pictures became a good fresh glass of water in the middle of any boring editorial, and her constantly shifting looks and wigs in the parties a colorful and original pepper touch.
Without hesitation, I started to think how I could somehow be involved one day with the three of them…, and the opportunity was given by 12 festival for fashion and photography and WOOD WOOD. For those who still don’t know WOOD WOOD, it is one of the coolest concept stores in Vienna located in Zollergasse 29. Coming from Copenhagen and having nowadays their own brand, they also bring to Vienna a nice urban fresh air, with clothes from Stina Goya, P.A.M, Comme des Garçons, Henrik Vibskov, Peter Jensen… A definitely MUST visit.
At this point, mark down the 2nd of June at 19 h, ‘cause is gonna be the opening-presentation of the “shop in shop”, meshit in Wood Wood for 15 days, where you will be able to buy the SS’12 meshit collection AND (and now I write this in capital letters) A CAPSULE COLLECTION FROM MESHIT+DALIAH SPIEGEL made just for the occasion!!!!!!!!!!!! and I write it again: LIMITED EDITION! A unique collection inspired in the limits between the analog image vs the digital postproduction and printing. PLUS a creation of a photo exhibition and a video projection result as well from the collaboration of this 3 amazing girls presented as well in the Wood Wood’s project room.
All and all curated by Kasa Schild and me (Lara Garcia), both from WOOD WOOD, is gonna be a HUGE, UNIQUE AND NEVER SEEING PROJECT!!!!!!!!!!
